Service Terms

Welcome to ActivePILOT. By accessing our website or enrolling in our flight training programs, you agree to abide by the following terms and conditions. These terms ensure a safe, professional, and efficient environment for all students and instructors at Van Nuys Airport (KVNY).

Course Enrollment and Pilot Eligibility

To enroll in our flight training programs, students must:

• Be at least 16 years of age (varies by program).
• Meet all FAA medical and English proficiency requirements.
• Provide proof of identity and citizenship as required by TSA.
• Comply with all safety protocols and instructor directives.

Flight Scheduling and Cancellations

Efficient scheduling is critical for your training success.

• Flight lessons must be scheduled through our approved scheduling platform.
• Cancellations without proper notice (typically 24 hours) may result in a cancellation fee.
• Weather-related cancellations are at the sole discretion of the instructor.

Payment and Fees

All training services, aircraft rentals, and instructor fees must be paid at the time of service unless a pre-paid account is maintained. We accept various payment methods, into which all applicable taxes and airport fees are applied. All sales for individual flight hours and supplies are final.

Liability and Safety

Safety is our highest priority. While we maintain our fleet to the highest FAA standards, aviation involves inherent risks. Students agree to follow all safety procedures and understand the risks associated with flight operations. ActivePILOT reserves the right to terminate training for any student who demonstrates reckless behavior or compromises safety standards.
